Big bucks! No whammies! No whammies! Stop! F*CK!
The whamtastic game show, Press Your Luck, hit PSN today. It was one of my favorite shows growing up, but $9.99 could be a bit of a whammy on your wallet/purse.

Straight from Stark Industries and right to your living room. This is pretty damn sweet. Even the haters (although begrudgingly) can appreciate this. Hit the link to see it in action.

Miyazaki not making Porco Rosso sequel yet, but wants to

Miyazaki’s been talking about doing a sequel to Porco Rosso for a long time, but while this interview doesn’t confirm the project’s start, it does make it seem a very high possibility. Miyazaki said he has two films lined up, one a new story and the other a sequel: “So I want to escape to Porco Rosso: The Last Sortie. I have all its materials,” indicating he’s got a plot lined up. He then says, “If next two films succeed and Suzuki-san lets me make it (Porco) while saying, ‘It cannot be helped because it’s a hobby of the old man’, I’m happy. It’s my hobby.”

Not sure if it’ll come to fruition, but I won’t be mad if it does!

Fugue in D lonely
Roger Ebert helps translate Lost in Translation. Great insight for those who felt a bit “lost” while watching the film. And definitely well worth the read for those who enjoyed it.

New Look
The road jerseys look OK, but the home jerseys are weak. Who thought it was a good idea to have green numbers? Overall, the new uniforms are just MEH.

Yeah, I got a way to defend it. Bring a bat to the game and kill one of them.

Kevin and Alison’s Chicken McNugget Performance Piece

Although I’m not a regular Attack of the Show! viewer anymore, skits like this are the reasons why I loved the show in the first place. Also, WHEN (not if) Olivia Munn leaves the show, I would be in full support of Alison being the official co-host. 100%.

PS - I started YouTubing Tina Guo after watching this (no surprise), and while she is attractive and talented, she seems like a woman capable of eating me alive in the non-literary sense. o_O

Singing a new tune
Better late than never. The Jazz lost a few good pieces this off-season, but they were able to retool with a few good pieces of their own. It remains to be seen whether this core will provide better or worst success, but I’m definitely willing to find out.
Welcome, new blood. Just put on your hard hat and work hard every night and you guys will be embraced by whole organization.

Clothing Line of the Day: Betty White? In my haute couture? It’s more likely than you think. The Internet’s favorite octogenarian will be launching her very own clothing line in August, after inking an exclusive licensing deal with CA-based clothing manufacturer Jerry Leigh Apparel.
Tees will retail for $28, with hoodies at $48. A portion of each sale will be donated to the Morris Animal Foundation, which, according to WWD, is “an animal health organization, for which White serves as a trustee.”

Good luck in Chicago, Carlos
Today marked the end of the Carlos Boozer era in Utah, as he agreed to a 5-year, 80 million dollar contract with the Chicago Bulls.

A beast in the post and on the boards, Boozer blossomed into a legit 20/10 guy in his 6 years with the Jazz. Armed with a sweet left hand touch, nice mid-range/turnaround jumpers, and a nose for the ball, his production is going to be hard to replace.
While Boozer will be missed offensively, it was in the best interest for both parties to move on. The biggest knock on him was his penchant for sitting out games for long stretches during the season and his matador defense. At 29, investing $80M over 5 years would have been overpaying for someone as soft and injury prone as Boozer. Not to mention potentially crippling (financially) in the long haul. Plus, Utah already has a young, tough, and cheap heir apparent waiting in the wings in Paul Millsap. While not offensively gifted, he is a gritty defender capable of providing close to 20/10.
Plenty of Jazz fans have labeled Boozer as gutless and heartless and are happy to see him go. While I understand those sentiments, I do not share them. Boozer was undoubtedly a great asset when healthy, but he was just frail. He missed close to 30% of his games, and it proved troublesome during times when Utah had opportunities to better position themselves for the playoffs. That was the biggest issue I had. I’m a bit sad to see him go, no doubt. I’m even more relieved that the Jazz did not overpay. Now they can move on and focus on using the extra cash to address their biggest need: interior defense.
Good luck in Chicago, Carlos. I think you’ll fit very well there. Appreciated your time with the Jazz, but you better believe you’re gonna booed out of the building when you return to ESA as an enemy!
PS: Will NOT miss you screaming “AND 1!” and other jibberish after each play.
